Functional and decorative designs make great gifts

These attractive business card holders make thoughtful gifts for the professionals on your Christmas list. The travel-friendly collapsible design is perfect for displaying your business cards at craft shows.

The business card holders easily accommodate 70 2" by 3" (50mm by 75mm) business cards. To make the holder collapsible, I use a half-lap joint. This joint is a deep notch that stops halfway in each mating piece. This simple yet functional joint is easy to make using only your scroll saw.

This is an excerpt from the book, SIMPLY WOOD.

Those are elegant - I took a copy. I'm assuming they were in the magazine and I just missed them. What a lovely gift.

Those are nice. I really like being able to download plans from our favorite mag right to my computer.

Super nice design. Ok.............. no Great for inside, but I'm afraid for outside stalls, the wind may distribute the cards for you. I think I'll make a couple with mining designs on them, they should prove to be good sellers.

I'd just use a clothes pin or something for outdoor shows...I'm sure someone will come up with an attractive alternative.

For outdoor shows, I built a bowl holder and tossed the cards in the bowl...

Those live up to the title, simple and elegant! As far as wind goes, maybe a small piece of matching wood shaped like a football goal post to hold the card a third of the way in from each end through a slot in the bottom of the front panel? Don

Love the design. If anyone here knows me - I look at ideas like this, and think...hmmm..how else could something like this be used? Picture frame. Enlarge so a 3x5 will fit, have the upper area for a name etc...and a bottom section cut out (with a bevel so the inside sinks so phone/cover can be placed inside)...nice (at least in my brain at this point) frame for shelf/desk.

I plan on making one of those. My fairs are mostly inside so the wind will not be a problem Diane

As soon as I saw them on the home page, my mind started making them a little different, (with inlay of course), and a few other features. I so can't wait til my copy comes.....:)

I love this business card holder but I would like to incorpate my logo. Does anyone know who could create a pattern for a business card hold like this using my logo. I'm going to start doing a lot of craft shows and I would love to put my business cards on the business card holder like this one. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Avallejos.... From the home page on the forum, scroll down to the pattern section - there is an area for pattern requests.... Post your request on there and I'm sure someone can help you out.
