Default A Cup Cake Box in progress

This is a pattern from Carole's book on the wooden boxes. first off I really didn't have any trouble cutting it out but got kind of a crooked base, but it will look much better when it is done. I did not have the right size forstmner bits so the holes are smaller but a cute baby ring would fit in there. I'm going to make another compartment in the frosting where another trinket or some thing can be put in. So we'll see how well it turns out. So far so good. Going to rest for the rest of the day but this cup cake is so darned cute! Sis said it looks like soft serve ice cream and I told her Carole has an ice cream box pattern also so that would be a cute project too. Enjoy I'll post a picture of it when it is done. Note, I don't know how the base got a little off centered, but hopefully it will be fine once the project is done.

It sure looks good enough to eat. I found out I did not drill down far enough with the first bit so had to make the lid liner thinner so the lid will sit right on the box. Oh well not bad for a first one so far. I have 2 parts of the lid ( icing ) glued up so tomorrow will finish with the glue up and more shaping and then will paint it and put a finish on it. I enjoyed working on it , infact I did not come up in time for supper so I had a luke warm bowl of soup but it was still great. Now with my tummy full and happy I will lie down and watch a couple of tv programs I want to watch tonight.
