Default John Wayne fretwork portrait

I'm done with the cutting and I think the black background will make him look great. I also found that picture frame that I bought months ago so will cut it to fit this portrait. Giving it to Sis and I think she is going to be very pleased with it. Lots of delicate cuts on this so it took me a few days to get that done. Now will put a finish on it and the frame will have a dark finish on it. The portrait will have a clear type of finish so the wood grain will show. Enjoy

That will look great with a dark frame!

Nice cutting Fay. I agree that a dark frame will look good. Do you plan to mat it and put it behind glass?

I'm not real sure if I will mat it or not but I did want to put some horse shoes in the corners or put a hand tolled leather look on the frame. The frame is not wide enough for that so I'll have to see what I can find. I think it is amazing how well it looks just looking at it on a black background. I used my new shirt to audition the black and I'm going to stick with the black. Sis thought the hat needed another line for more outline or some thing and I told her I believe if you have too many lines, it could break or some thing. The pattern was bonus pattern that was in the Fall issue of the SSW & C mag # 52 It's the one with the intarsia owl on the front of it and Sis wants that owl for Next Christmas. Well see as there are a lot of little pieces to cut out on that pattern. I enjoyed making this So we'll see how well it will look after the framing and such...

Gotta love anything to do with John Wayne. Sad that most kids today don't know who he was.
