Default Butterfly Box in progress

I tried my hand at this butterfly box on the last issue.
My wife loves butterflies, so another reason to gain some favors.
As you can see a little different from the pattern but I think it will be nice by the time I put the finishing touch to it.

p.s. will post the finish product.

Hi Pete that's looking really good, I'm sure your wife will be very pleased, I'm looking forward to seeing the finished article.

Well just finish the assembly, just have to put the finish on it.

As you can see I modify the pattern to make it easier for the top to stay in place.

Nicely done.

I wonder how many forum members have made or are making the Butterfly Box?

Thanks for all the nice comments, will post the finish product today or tomorrow.
After I applied the finish (Deft Clear Wood Finish) it brought the wood color out.

This is the first project from the mag that I made. I love mine but wish I had better wood to work with. I had some stuff I found in the Goodwill and used that. So my wood choices were not very good. I want to make one for Mom later this year , maybe for her birthday. Her birthday is in June and by then I know I'll be used to Big Yellow.. Guess I'll name him Walt. It was going to be Walter, but that was grandfather's name... Have a great day and that butterfly box is pretty. Fay
