Default For Father's Day

My father passed away about 5 years ago. I've been wanting to cut his portrait for sometime, now. But, it took me a while to get through making the pattern. Finally finished the pattern and have decided that I will make one for my mother and each of my sisters (4 of them) , and his Grand children (4 of those) for Father's Day. I know that Father's Day is for fathers to get gifts, but, I just thought this would be a great way to remember him.

I've got just 4 more to do...

Small ones cut out of 1/8 (ish) poplar. Large one cut out of 1/8 bb plywood.

That is a great idea! A very nice pattern, great cutting and good wood. They are sure to be a keepsake passed down. Be sure to have a box of tissues handy - bet tears will flow!

Wonderful sentiment. Fathers day as far as I know, is for remembering fathers and showing them you care. You nailed it!

Thank you both for the affirmation. Anneh, I will make sure I have a couple of boxes of tissues, I know we will all need them. Thanks again.

Ekmouse: when you give these portraits to your loved ones, they will be a gift. A gift all of them can treasure for the rest of their lives, they will be glad you did it.

Wow, what a busy week! Well, I got my family together for Father's Day, those that live nearby and gave them the portrait. Unfinished, unframed. I wanted them to do those things the way they wanted. It'll be interesting to see what they do with them.

They were all very pleased. Lots of tears, though. That can't be helped. We all miss him very much! My mother was so enthralled. She loves the picture and that I made it just makes it more special.

Thanks again!
