Haven't scrolled much lately. Have been busy reorganizing my garage, doing some rewiring, I'm putting in a much needed exhaust fan right by my scroll area. Put in an alarm, and am working on my muscle car to get it ready for the summer. Between all of that , I managed to stack cut 3 of these arrow tiger heads out of exotic wood. This zebra wood is my favorite. Just sanded it a bit, put 2 coats of semi gloss, a black felt backing and its good to go. Detail was challenging, use a 2.0 spiral for all of it. Had to go real slow around the eyes, last batch I made I had sections fall out from cutting it too close, so I wanted to make sure that didn't happen again. These stacked exotics were hard on the blades, went through about 5 blades cutting them. They are about 6x4", this one is 3/8 thick. |

Great choice of wood. Nicely done.

Thanks for the comments, these tigers are very satisfying. Not a too in depth project, but enough to challenge and improve skills. Here are the twins of the zebra wood, cut from the same stack I just noticed that I finished the wrong side on the zebra wood one. Technically not much difference, as they look fine from either side .. But the bottom side is a bit rougher from cutout. I do lightly sand so that nothing shows from the other side, but since I knew in advance that I would be putting a backing on these, I didn't sand all that much, and you can see a bit of fuzz. |

Very nice...I can see how that would take a bit of time in the cutting stage
