Default Mama's birthday present just under the wire

Didn't get it finished but at least presentable. A few minor issues and fuzzies to take care of and finish and install the hinges. I also wanted to line the box or section it as it will not be needed for the portrait.
The bow is 3/8" BB stained ipwitch pine
The box walls are cut from 1" butternut and te bottom is 1/4" 3 ply birch and the top is 1/8" BB with 1/8" butternut wit lots of nice worm holes.
The portrait and frame are from a single piece 1" pine re sawed and sanded to a little under 1/2". The center is bevel cut 3 degrees and dropped back about 1/4 ". Bothe are backed with 1/8" BB stained dark cherry as is the frame. The portrait is stained cherry. All was the given 3 coats of spray shellac and multiple coats of Krylon clear acrylic. With tons of sanding. The butternut was like trying to sand a sponge smooth.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys. Going to take today off and maybe try and find the shop again. It's starting to get deep.
Buckshot has been feeling very abused 'cause dad hasn't had much play time so he is high on the list too. He's turning out to be a really nice little pup but he's full of beans.
