Default My stage coach project

I'm doing the stage coach from Gatto plan supply..
I couldn't wait to get started so I put my fire truck project aside for now..

the frame, steps 1 thru 14...

cherry and walnut

the Padauk wood I'm going to use for the coach....

I'm going to be updating and adding progress pictures to this thread and I would appreciate if you hold the "great start" replies and wait until I get a little further on the project...

Thanks

Trout

What a great project and good start, I purchased that same plan from Gatto a while back but have not started any work on it. When I was in High School I made a similar Stage coach with metal springs, luggage racks and hinged doors, etc. It took me 6 months to complete, unfortunately my oldest sister accidently knocked it off of the mantel and it was destroyed beyond repair. Ever since then I always wanted to make another. I will be following your WIP very closely.

Trout, you are almost as good at making wood projects as you are at fishing!
LOL

wagon wheels, they sure would be a lot easier if I had the right size cherry dowels. I'm turning down a 1/4 dowel to 3/16ths on a belt sander one at a time.

that hub hole doesn't look to centered in the picture, but that's as close as I can get it.

here's the first wheel....

now to make one more just like it and 2 bigger ones for the rear...
