Default First stack cutting project

In hindsight I should have chosen something easier to stack cut - I knew that if I did one of these crosses I'd want another and that is what motivated me to try cutting 2 at the same time.

This is the Ascension Cross, I purchased the pattern from Scroller Ltd. awhile ago and I've spent the last 2 months cutting this out (too many things get in the way: work, children..)

I've haven't finished them yet as I'm not sure what would look best on them.

Thank you. Danish oil is a great idea for the finish. For me the cutting is the easiest part - it is the finishing that I'm still working through. Sometimes hard to visualize the outcome.

Danish Oil is good - but it does darken the wood - and if you are like me - the fumes are strong especially in the cold when windows cannot be left open. I have recently tried lemon oil - and REALLY like it - does not darken and no "stink".

If you are concerned on how the wood will react to the finish you want to use - do some testing using the scraps - that way you will know for sure
