Default Your basic Wall shelf

Well I finally got some time in the shop to work on a commission piece. This is just a decorative wall shelf in which I used part of the pattern from UncleDum's Horse welcome Sign (Thanks much for sharing the pattern good sir) . I still have to cut the railing for around the top and drill for 2 shaker pegs in the bottom part.

I also took a little trip to the dark side, because the bottom part of the shelf is 32 inches long so I used a #3 spiral blade to do the cutting. This is the first time using a spiral blade so be kind!

Anyway looking for your comments.

YES!!! Another Convert!!! <EVIL GRIN>

That looks fabulous Mike! Can't wait to see it finished. And spirals are good aren't they

Try a #1 spiral sometime. They are my favorite for cutting out V shapes etc.

Many thanks.

Mike: I had too, because my scroll saw only has a 16" throat and the piece was 24" long! Anyway, showed the wip pics to the client and is pleased as punch with the way it looks so, soon to finish tomorrow!

Edit: This was also the first time with the scrollsaw since my little episode involving medicine and the hospital so I was scared silly trying it!

Well minus the sealer and the clear coat, here is the finished product.

That came out real nice, please post another picture when you have the finish on it. If I may ask what did you charge for that piece? It probably is not enough.

Very nicely done! I'll let you slide this time for going to the dark side.
