Default Rifles

I made a template from 1/8" bb ply and trace the rifle shape on to the 3/4" stock, I like to use pine for these. After pattern is drawn I set-up my router with a 1/2" round nose bit and rout the groove for the barrel. Next I cut the part out from the stock. Next I use a 1/8" roundover bit in my dremel plunge router and rout the heel of the stock the groove area on the front side of the stock and the lower grip area. Then I put a 1/4" roundover bit in my router and rout the area behind the barrel groove back to the top of the butt, then the bottom of the butt to the notch behind the grip, then the front area of the grip to the trigger and on the other side of the trigger forward and up to near the barrel groove. Then I use 1/2" sanding drums for my Dremel tool to recess the trigger area.

Default Barrels

Here are my barrels. I drill a 3/32" bit for the front site and a 5/16" bit for the bore. I cut a rear site from 1/16" stock and cut a notch in the top of the barrel for it. I rounded off the rear end of the barrel on the disc sander. I also drill 3/32" holes through the barrel and into the stock and use round toothpicks for reinforcement to keep the barrel on. Once I cut the pattern, I put the barrel on and cut off the toothpicks if they protrude into the cutout area. Hope this not too confusing.

Default Up date on rifles.

Sorry it has been a while, been busy with craft show. This a new pattern for some clients of mine, I will be making 3 of them. It has a deer family on it, i.e. Buck, Doe, and Fawn. I use white pine and cut with a 2/0R blade.
