Default Jesus walking on water

I bought a plywood utility panel to cut up for smaller projects where the grain doesn't really have much affect on the finished project. But when I got to looking at this particular panel I noticed that the grain at the bottom of it reminded me of water. This in turn reminded me of my pattern of Jesus walking on water. Soooo...I've cut three 10X15 panels that I am going to stack cut, all of them having the same dark lines in the bottom of the panel that looks to me like it could be water. I'm going to start the cuts today. When I am finished I will post a picture of all three panels.
I hope these utility panels cut well. They are only eleven dollars for a 4 foot x 8 foot panel at Lowe's. I may well have stumbled onto something that I can afford to cut portraits from.

Well, I'm off to a good start. I managed to cut the head, eyes and hair without any breakage. The panels I am using are really easy to cut. I just hope it continues to go well. I am entertaining the thought of painting one of the panels. I think it would look awesome.
More later!

bubba,
what a nice pattern, and those panels seem perfect, specialy the grain pattern on the one in the picture.although i dont think there will be much of it showing by the time all the pieces are cut out.its a good idea to stack cut them.

Wow Bubba that looks wonderful. I love that wood grain, I think you're right it's perfect for this pattern. Thanks so much for sharing it with us. I can't wait to see it finished, you do such beautiful work.

Thanks Merle. It may very well be spalted, but whatever it is, it sure is pretty. Makes me want to dig through the pile at Lowes to see if there is any more like it.

Man!! I was posting an in-progress report when everything just disappeared.
Anyway, I am posting the back side of the bottom panel to make it easier to see what I've gotten done.
I am using a no. 5 platinum blade from Seyco. Very sharp (I've cut my fingers just threading the blade through the entry holes).
I've only come close to making one boo-boo. I think that is because my blade may not be perfectly square to the table. I'll have to correct that later but for now I am going to leave well enough alone.
I am about one-third of the way complete. I may finish today providing my back holds out. Otherwise, tomorrow??
Thanks for looking...all well-meaning comments welcome

Bubba
