Default Chinese Peacock by Kevin Daly

I Picked this pattern off of the New Patterns thread Tuesday night. This is my progress today. I'm doing the project in 1/2" Mahogany. I chose 1/2" to give the delicate areas a little more muscle The board size is 10" x10". When I started I had a #55 bit already chucked into the drill press so I just drilled the areas that the bit would fit. After I finish cutting the drilled holes I will finish drilling, probably with a #68. I'm using an FDSR #1 blade.
The commercial resizing program I'm using to print the pattern didn't give me a real sharp pattern so in many area I'm guessing as I saw, sorry Kevin.
Just thought you might want to see.
Rex

WOW! You didn't waste any time getting going on this one. Looks great so far and I can't wait to see it finished. I've printed mine out and it's next on the saw.
I suspect you're using rapid resizer to print? I've noticed on mine that it does a number on pdf patterns for some reason. If there's a next time give me a shout, I think I finally figured out how to break it apart in multiple pages.
Thanks for feeling my pattern was worthy of your time and material!!!!

Thanks, I'll do that. I'm not always happy with the quality of the pattern after resizing. In spite of that it is well worth the money I use it quite a bit. I think with this pattern, since there aren't really any lines for the program to work with it didn't even see the peacock until I filled the original pattern with black. In doing eethat, some of the detail is difficult to see. I'm using the original pattern to double check my work. One change I've made is leaving a sharp point on the end of each feather rather than rounding them over a bit as in the original. Besides making the piece a little more delicate with the points, I've found in my work that often when I try to round over the end of a "feather" I burn the tip a little bit. Sometime it looks great sometime it looks out of place. My cuting is so good that I don't want people to think I'm using a laser......just kidding.
Sorry to be so verbose here but if I'm doing something wrong I want to know and if I can help others, I want to know that also. I've only been at this for not quite 3 years.
