First let me say this is the first time I've attempted to post pictures (hope this works) Anyway -- I've stack cut 3 of Sue Mey's crosses and mounted them on different backgrounds. The backgrounds make them look completly different. I asked the wife and a few friends which background was preferred and nobody agreed. SO thought I'd ask people who also like to cut. Let me know (I if you can see them.) THANKS! Bernie |

Hey, Bernie. I like them all. But I really like the ones that have the background a little larger than the detail. You did a great job. As for the colors, the darker colors make the details stand out a bit more. I cut one of Sue's crosses and enjoyed it, but when I stacked three 1/8" baltic birch I burned some tighter areas. Next time, I'll put some packing tape over the pattern. Again, you did very well and thanks for sharing.

Beautiful work! I like the larger background pieces best. IMHO it shows off the scrollwork better. And, since my favorite color is green, bet you can guess which ones I liked best of all. After seeing your work, I'm gonna steal it. :-) I cut the Victorian Fretwork cross in SWC #34. Cut the background to match. You've made me want to cut it again and put a wider green background behind it.

| 'Senior' member - no way! | Really nice work Bernie I also go with the larger background and although I'm really into green on most things I tend to prefer blue for religious themes, maybe a shade lighter than you have used, because blue is generally accepted as being a very peaceful colour and imparts a good aura to such themes

Welcome to the forum Bernie......love to see project pictures, thanks for posting. My choice would be larger background and dark colors, but they all look great.

Ok, I'm going to be the odd man out!! My favorite is the dark background with the almost white detailed overlay same size. The second cross in the first picture. It draws my eyes to the design. Nice job on the cutting!!

Hey Bernie, I really like them all, but if I had to narrow it down to one color...BLUE would be my choice. I also like the oversized background as well. You did a great job on all of them!!! for sharingRick

All of them are great! To pick choices, Pic #1 I would choose Cross #1, Pic #2 Cross #3, and in Pic #3, Cross #3. That is just the way I chose them and it happened that way.
