| I've been working on finishing a few other projects that I started while in the process of building the clock. Now it's time to finish those projects before it gets too cold around here. (One Done - See Photos) I have been looking into Wood Dogs idea about using a thin mouse pad. The material is spongy and rubbery. Seems to me to be the perfect combination to line the pulley. I expect to get into the shed today to play around with another idea I thought of, so maybe I'll see what I can do with the spare pulley I made awhile back.

Rick I know how that goes. Betty looks great! The mouse pad should work just don't know how durable it will be with the chain. Another though was the stuff they use to line shelves/drawers and such kind of an no slip foam rubber usually with holes in it. Good luck with it. Tim |

Hey Tim - Hey Rhys... My clock all the sudden is running a little faster, since it got cold outside. Do you think this is because of the humidity or lack of it? It was keeping time right on the money, now it's about 10 minutes fast per day. It is also ticking harder and actually sounds great. ![]() Your thoughts...

Rick, glad to hear that it is still doing its job. I would suggest that the reduced humidity has had an effect on the friction of the teeth meshing. I am a bit surprised that it has made that much difference to the time keeping. Rhys Last edited by Hobbyhorse; 10-22-2009 at 09:44 AM. |

Rick The humidity change will definitely effect it also the colder weather makes the wood shrink a little so if your bob is a snug fit it may have moved up just a bit. At least it didn't stop. LOL
