Default Yet another Rose Box

This is what I have so far. I didn't want a dark line around the bottom of the box so I recessed it. It's going to all be covered with flock so you won't see it when finished.

Ben, how do you make the recess on the box?
Also, how do you get the bottom to "bland" with the rest of the box?

Thanks,

Yes, all Walnut. Rose is stained for a bit more contrast.

I did the recess free hand with a router... Very carefully. Then cut the bottom to fit. I tried my best to match the grain with the two pieces.

Ben,

That's really looking good. I need to try Intarsia. It's really hard to believe that you can get that much detail out of a piece of wood...I can't wait to see it completed..

Hey Ben,
I reckon if you look closely you could fit another clamp on just to the right of.................

The box is coming along nicely.
Recessing the bottom is a good idea

Another change up last minute, it just seemed practical to me. I made a two tier section for the small stuff. It will be all covered in flock soon.
