| Thanks Sue, We hear complaints all the time about not providing enough of this style of pattern, or that style of pattern... Over the course of a year, we try very hard to provide an even mix of pattern styles, but we know that we can't give even treatment to any one style in one issue...it just never works out that way. But we do try to include articles like Dick's that you can apply to different styles of patterns. I'm really pleased with what you've done with this project, Tom! I can't wait to see the final outcome! Bob

| BobD, I think you do strike a good balance in the magazine. Some patterns I just shake my head at, but still learn from them. I have learned a lot of different styles of Woodwork over the years and now this site. In my opinion you do nopt have to fix anything. Oh yeah 1 thing, Can you fix the Post Office, still witing for my magazine. lol. Alan. |

| you power carving or chisel carving? I want to get one of those carvers with the chain saw blade on it, that'll get you down to where you want to go in a big hurry!

| The destruction to my hard fretwork continues. Things are now starting to take shape. Yeah it still looks darn rough, but some of it has been smooted a bit. Here you can clearly see that the cars and the plane are standing proud of the rest of the piece. The real question left in my mind is what the heck am i going to do with the mountains and the horizontal stab on the plane???? Anyone? Tom |

|  Progress on Your Project Hey, Tom...Just got back from vacation and see that you've made a lot of progress. Some suggestions. For the mountains, with your scroll saw, cut a few jagged somewhat vertical lines to simulate peaks of the mountain. Look at the third picture in my gallery where I created mountains in that project. Then just carve them up a bit to make them look more rugged. For the plane wings, reduce the background a little more in front and to the rear of the wings some and then round off the front of the wings and taper towards the rear of the wings. For the front of the plane, lower the background on the bottom a little more and then, shape the front of the plane so the nose cone looks like it is protruding forward, ie, round it off and taper some.
