Default The Mutt

I finally got this painted except for the eyes. A lot of people ask if I have a saddle for Chance. I bought a saddle up north last year and did this. Did not use my scroll saw for much of this except for the legs. Anyway Ilike how it turned out.

I am making 9 more smaller ones, they will have antlers and will pull a sleigh for Santa.
We have had him come to our house each Christmas with his Danedeer team for the last 10 years.A lot of other Greatdane owners are familiar with Danedeer, might even be able to sell a few.I bought a Fordom sander last fall that should help cut the time down in making these.
Alan.

Its just compound cutting. Look up your breed and find a good side, front and rear view. its a fair bit of sanding, I bought a Fordam shaft driver last summer to do this. Some the dogs I do are cut out of 3 pieces of wood. Look in the magazine for examples of compound cutting. There is a bunch of them, mostly Xmas stuff.
There is a pattern of Reindeer in one of the past issues, it will give you a good start.
