| Sue Mey's Rose Heart this was a nice pattern to cut out once I figured out how to print the full size pattern on our printer.
The lettering took some time, I didn't like the way the date and year looked on the ribbon so I left it off.
now I need to figure out what I'm going to do as a backer board and frame..
to bad my future son in law doesn't drink, I would have this tattooed on his chest as a reminder to make this marriage work and the $10,000 I'm putting into this wedding (I'M ONLY KIDDING)...

it's a good thing I finished my rose heart yesterday because today has been kind of a bummer day....
not only is our gas at $4 a gallon, working for a public school district here in California is pretty stressful these day's..
come July were going to be 7 million dollars short so people are either getting fired, laid off or just jumping ship..
today my great boss said that he's leaving in July, what a bummer....
this June I'll be starting my 27th year but I still have 13 years before I can retire out at 60, I sure hope I can ride out the storm....
back to my rose heart...
I'm just trying to get an idea on the backer board...
here I have a piece of felt and a red stained piece of ply..
right now nether one of them turn me on!
no need to reply, hopefully after our fishing trip this weekend I'll be in a better mood to get this project done..

| Trout, your cutting looks great.I told you it wasnt that hard!!! Your backings...I agree, neither of them do much for the cutting. I think just a stained red oak panel would look nicer than either of those reds.I was real happy with the red backing I used, but that was dyed red on oak ply, so the grain still showed through real nice.A couple more ideas.... Try a piece of black velvet matt board behind it, it would look awesome like that. If red is not their color for their wedding, you could try a matching color to the dress you bought for your other daughter who most likely is standing up in this wedding.Or, get a swatch of material matching the wedding parties dresses, and use that as a backing! | I call him "GeekBoy" great idea's Dale...
but their colors are chocolate brown, pink and sage green.
now the black velvet idea sounds good, it looks pretty good in the first picture with just a piece of black paper...
32 more days....

| Trout,
How big is it? I would put it on a dark teal backgound or even black, Put a secondary color matt around it and then an appropriate frame.
I dont like the red either.
I am assumming it was cut in Baltic Birch 1/8

| That's a beautiful piece of work, Trout. I'm with Rolf on not liking the red though - it kind of overpowers the piece.
You mentioned chocolate brown - would that work as a background .. I'm not sure it would without seeing it .. just a thought ..
