I got my pattern from Toy's and Joy's.... looks to be an easy project and I have all next week to work on it.... here's what the pattern looks like.... ![]() ![]() ![]() and this is what's included in the parts kit.... ![]() tomorrow I'll get my wood, I'm thinking of trying something different for the cab and dump bed so you'll have to wait to see when I get to that point. in the mean time I have already cut a few parts and I'll post some more pictures as I get a little further in the project.... Remember this is a work in progress thread.... Trout Last edited by Trout; 11-17-2007 at 01:56 AM. |

Looks like a fun project. Can I ask why you'd change the cab of that KW ? Are you going to build a low boy so the truck can transport the back hoe?

Trout, you're an inspiration. I've had the plans for the locomotive and caboose for a few years but couldn't find my round-tooit. Soon as my Christmas projects are done it will be next on the list. Earl |

trying to figure out the shaping of the hood, I just don't see it happening the way the plans show. after cutting the grill twice this is as good as it's going to get... ![]() let's see, I got in the shop at 8 this morning and now it's 4:30 in the aftrenoon. I do take a 10 minute brake about every hour.... Hey Earl, can't wait to see your train.... Trout |

now that I'm done it's time for a shot or two of JD to help with my stiff neck... ![]() I'm starting the cab tomorrow, and to think I'm being paid to stay home and do this... I love my Job.... Trout |

Looking good there. I think the grill looks just fine as it is. Perhaps it is the artist's perfectionism talking (I can be guilty of that one myself, though). Tor

This is looking good. My father makes wooden trucks, started with a standard plain truck and has slowly modified the pattern to add more trinkets to it. His trucks are nice, but this one is a step up in craftsmanship. Keep up the good work, it is going to look awesome when finished.

here's the cab... ![]() there was no gas, brake or clutch peddles in the plans, I had to fix that! ![]() I need to put a clear coat on the interior before I mount the roof.... ![]() Trout |
