Default painters pyramids

I was looking at the new site and re read this article Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts - Painter's Pyramids
These are great little gadgets, but I am too cheap to even buy them!
I have a bunch of half wooden eggs.
I put those on my benech and it elevates the wood. I can stain both sides of a board now. There is a little more material touching the wood than a pyramid would use but it does work.

Carl, I was thinking along the same lines (apparently we're both cheapskates, hehehehe). Except for me it's the cut-offs from frames. I have tons of 3/4" thick little triangles, never thought of using them to hold stuff up though till yesterday.

I use a carpet tack strip, 4 of them actually they work very nicely and don't leave dimples either.

I use pin boards. These are pieces of plywood through which I have pushed many, many nails (using the compressor, of course).

I made something along these lines. I took some scap wood and shot a bunch of screws through them. Great time saver, as I don't have to wait for one side of a piece to dry completely before flipping it over and finishing the other side. I use them all of the time.

That's a clever idea Mike. The triangles are nice too, but way overpriced! That's way too much for a couple of pieces of plastic. The whole kit probably costs the importer $0.25. I wonder who's making the money here? Still, nice idea.

I make my own by taking two pieces of corrugated cardboard and driving staples into one of them. Then I glue the two pieces together to keep the staples from coming out. Works for me.

I use Unixpro's trick, a piece of 600 x 600x 16mm mdf, and a 32mm pin shot through it at about every 1" .
