Hey guys and gals. I was reading through issue 36 earlier and while I was going through the section about building a silhouette night light I noticed that it said to assemble the piece (stained glass and wood) and then finish it. Would it be better to put the finish on the wood parts and then assemble it with the stained glass or just put the finish on the glass and wood? Thanks

If you finish the whole thing you could have really stained glass! If possible, I'd finish the wood before installing the glass, but depending on how it is assembled that may not be possible. If not, mask off the glass and be careful with the finish. --Rob |

I would finish the wood first. If you are worried about the glass not sticking to the finished wood, then mask off the part of wood that will be glued to, and then finish the project. Then glue together. T |

Thanks for the help. I'll try finishing the wood and then assemble the piece. Keep on scrolling!!!
