After checking out CallMeKelly's web link, I'm so much more in tune with my feminine side....LOL Some really neat ways to dye wood to boot...Thanks for sharing Kelly... Alan, you really need to get a good hard hat to wear to ward off the pots and pans...LOL

Rolf We have been away for awhile, sorry. We know you tried our Cardinal & Dogwood pattern and it should give you some ideas for using food color. We have been using it for years and have a lot of pieces on the walls. They still look as good as the day they were made. Homer & Carol |

That sounds like a good idea. I never thought of food coloring. But have anyone try this? Colored pencils on to sandpaper then on to the wood specially pine. It has a tint of color that will make the picture POP out.

I did the nut hatch design and decided to try food colouring out of curiousity . The green tuned almost black in the jar that I had stored it in last fall , so I used a green felt pen . I'm sure there is a way to give it some oomph or this is the way it will naturally turnout . Roger |

Here are a few pictures that we have done with food color. They range in size and amount of different colors. Some of these have been hanging on our wall for several years now. We have about 75 patterns that are segmented and use food color. Homer & Carol |

Hi looking for some help.. i have a plain unfinished pine table i want to stain with food coloring for a kids table.. how do i finish it so the color won't rub off and is kid safe? Also is there a way of dying with different colors to create a pattern or will it just all bleed together? thanks! |
