Cut down three walnut trees today, will have friend come by and load them up for processing. He will cut and dry for some of the wood. This a pix of one of the limbs cross sections, strange pattern. It is a 8" across. The three trees are about 18" diameter and were dying.

You lucky dog you. I love walnut. Finishes beautiful and easy to work with. And if you want me to bring it to AZ. it will dry quicker. Tom

That tree slice looks like it has a saw blade already built right in it, just a few missing teeth. Great picture, thanks for posting it Merle.

Merle, slices of those walnut logs make some beautiful clocks. Cut them about 1" thick, let them dry good. Sand them smooth, drill a hole in the center, add a battery powered works. Apply numbers and hands. Klockit has everything you need. The gold or brass numbers and hands show up well against the dark brown walnut.

LOL WD, I was thinking the exact same thing. Merle, You're on a winner there mate. It's one of the joys of being a wood worker, making use of everything.
