Default Myrtlewood

While in Oregon I managed to convince my husband to let me get some myrtlewood (it was a problem storing it in the RV LOL) . Since I have never worked with it before I was wondering if anyone here has experience with it and how it finishes.

Hi Billie,

I never worked with Myrtle, so I can't help with the question. Just thought this might bump it up for others to see and help with the question.

when you get it warm it sure has a distinct aroma though!!!! When turned it shines without hardly any finish. I've learned the hard way, over the years, but it can be a gorgeous wood. I fell in love with mrytle wood in high school many decades ago and still do!! I made a couple stops coming through Southern Oregon a couople weeks ago to get some more!!

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the info. It is so pretty that I fell in love with it. Wish I could have gotten more pieces.
