| Report back with photos, please.
Sounds like a nice possibility for some ornaments I plan to cut soon as I get three other promised jobs done.

| Here's the first picture in progress. It's a piece of 5 x 7 flashing.
Home Depot has 5 x 7 pieces of flashing that work well. Lowe's has 8 x 12 pieces to use as well. I'll be going back for more.
Here's what I did that seems to work. Haven't had the time to work on a lot of them, yet. I cut a piece of 1/8" bb to make sure I didn't get any scratches on my table. I applied the pattern to the metal and the metal to the wood. I put packing tape over the whole piece to hold everything down and help with lubrication. I used a FD metal blade #5 which seemed to work.
I want to experiment with blades yet and I haven't finished the complete ornament. Just thought I would give an update.
I'm still working on the copper source (as well as brass). I've got so many projects in the fire! |

| Good start, I make ornaments for the grill on vehicles and also mud flap signs. The signs just get riveted to the mud flap. Anyway Sign shops carry decal material for signs that we can use. I use a chrome finish od the finished metal and it fools people that think it is real chrome. My mudflaps are 4 years old and the decal cover is still good. The small danes I did for my wife are fastened to the grill on her truck and again 4 years and still good.

Alan. | Dutch Boy used to make an aluminum paint that was about 35% solids and when applied to a flat surface in even, thin coats would simulate chrome at a distance. And if you waxed it, the shine would last forever.
EPA probably stopped the manufacture of it.

EPA probably stopped the manufacture of it. | You've given me further ideas. I have to crank out a couple of other projects before I can get working seriously on Christmas ornaments. Now I'm itching for scroll work again. |
