Default What an Ash....

I'm sorry, I am usually very positive on this board, but I cannot stand sawing Ash. It smells and if you open your mouth to sneeze or cough, the taste is enough to make you hurl for distance.

I just used the last of my ash stash (nice rhyme!) to build a frame for my display boards.

Jim

I do not understand, I love ash, it is very stable and close grained and great for cutting intricate frets.

I usually sand it prior to cutting it and if I use a reverse tooth blade, there is very little to do afterwards. Some of my best pieces have been made of ash.

Having said that, I do wear a mask whilst cutting most of the time and try not to eat it!
