| Just my two cents: I much prefer cherry with no stain. But I have used Bartley's gel stain on cherry with pretty good results. The gel prevents the stain from "bleeding" into the wood. Ralph |

| Hi Thomas aka Barefoot1... Did you mean to literally narrow the search based on the criteria of Hardwood Lumber, Exotic Wood, Veneer, Sawmill Services and Other Woods such as Tonewoods, Recycled Lumber& Salvaged Wood, Carving Stock and Turning Blanks? I will admit that Woodfinder has stumped me before as I'm not very knowledgable in this area. About as far as I could find on the woodfinder were guitar laminates. Is that what you would expect? I feel like a real dufus on this. I guess I just don't know the right terminology to use in trying to find a pre-fabricated piece of plywood with a veneer already applied. Thanks for everyone's patience with this! |

 | Morph, What kind of plywood are you looking for. While it is possible to buy veneer separately, virtually all plywood has some type of veneer facing. Any good lumberyard (as opposed to the big box stores) will usually stock a variety of plywoods in different thicknesses. My local lumberyard (The CT Woodgroup) stocks about a dozen different kinds. I don't know if they ship or not but it will give you an idea of the types of plywood that a real lumberyard carries.
