I wasn't as lucky as barefoot1 today but I picked up these cabinet doors on somebody's garbage pile.....was driving by and saw them ready for the garbage man. Would share with you Janette, but I presume you have more than a few cabinets. Sorry

Nice hall there, I have been thingking of hitting some of the cabnet makers myself. I used to work for one, and wonted their scraps, but they was already promised out. they would fill up a 4x6x4 trailor for the guy. and he only picked it up once. and maid them mad, so when I said I would come weekly or even more offten, they still said no, didn't wont to botter . they tosed it all in the trash. so I just went dumpster diving, and got lots of red Oak, and really nice oak plywood. I am going to hit some now for corian. but thats like searching for gold hear in Calif. bummer. oh well. I'll get luck some day again. Im just jelous. good for you , your friend Evie

Scrap? Those are the boards I have to go to the lumber yard to find.....and they cost plenty. My local cabinet maker uses mostly 3/4 veneered plywood so his scraps are not that great. I have to ask him again. You are one lucky scroller. Enjoy.

Apparently a lot of this 'scrap' came from a an $18 million mansion that they were working on in Park City. All of the floor boards (you know, the 1.5 inch pine strips we all have in our homes that cover the edge of the carpet) were 8x1 inch cherry, I will have to do a bit of milling on their scraps but I now have a lot of cherry for scroll projects. The oak timber are the cut offs from the fire place mantles, the rest of it is just shop scraps but still very usable to me. I am going to be re-sawing the pine timbers and making an out feed table for my table saw.
