Default Floridians

Anybody use woods from Chipmunk Hardwoods in Edgewater before? They just popped up on Woodfinder for me this week.

Edit: NM< they only sell in 10-12 foot lengths ;p My search for a nearby wood supplier goes on!

Magpie,

I have purchased various types of wood from Chipmunk Hardwoods and have been extremely satisfied with them. Since I live about 20 miles south of there, I just go up there and pick out what I want. They are a small and very friendly company.

As for selling in 10' to 12' lengths, I have bought shorter pieces and if you are getting it shipped to you, they would cut it for you.

Sure Here ya go:

Stair Parts|Millwork|Lumber|Plywood |Veneer|Decking |Flooring.

Here's another one I'm gonna look at:

Hardwood trim, woodworking hand tools, and more - Constantines.com

Unfortunately when I use woodfinder.com, 8 out of the 10 nearest suppliers are Woodcraft, who just don't carry what I want at the moment, although I do order from them a lot. Right now I'm ordering from Ocooch and Memphis Hardwoods and making my customers eat the shipping and handling, but I need to find someplace closer if I can.

Bill,

I'm not exactly sure where you live but I have a general idea and you are not too terribly far from Chipmunk Hardwoods. I only make the trip when I have enough cash to make a big purchase but do enjoy the trip. The last time I was there, the buyers could still go out into the shop/lumber area and see the lumber, pick out what you want and load it right there nearby. I am real happy I found them as my supplier.

Magpie,
Too bad you aren't closer to them, they have a very large variety all the time.

I wish I was a bit closer, but that's OK, I will save my money and my personal slave will drive me down this summer while he's out of college--he works for food

Magpie-

I live in the St. Petersburg area. There is a hardwood supply company here, it is called Weiss Hardwoods. Go here to see what they have. We may be closer to you than .

Nubbin-

Edgewater is across the state from me.

Ha, I looked at them before but, silly me, I thought Largo was in Key Largo! I'll add 'em to my list, and thank you

Sorry Bill. I saw that you list Seminole FL and I immediately thought it was Seminole County which is close by here.
