| thinboards.com? Anyone order from them lately? I've tried emailing them a couple of times without any response. Their website doesn't list a phone number to call, and the owner, Dirk Martin, hasn't posted here since 2005 as far as I can tell. The order I want is a good $9 cheaper than the next closest vendor I can find. Interested in hearing about recent transactions with this vendor.
Thanks,
James |

| I dont think he does thin boards anymore. I will look tomarrow, I have his phone number here somewhere. One thing to be aware of, the wood he sells has a tendancy to cup and warp, mainly because of his technique. Also, the ones I got from him were not very uniform in thickness, so far off in fact I couldnt use most of it for a clock I was building at the time. You may pay a couple dollars more for your wood, but give www.petersonscustomlumber.com a look.Their wood is always scrollsaw ready. Dale |

| I only bought from thinboards.com once. The wood was not as advertised, but they made good on it once I let them know.
I buy all my thin boards now from deer56hunter (Kim) on eBay. Great selection of thin domestics like walnut, ash (black and white), elm, maple, red oak, white oak, etc..... VERY fair prices as well. |

| Thanks for the heads up. I checked petersoncustomlubmer, and they don't have the sizes I need (Cherry, 8"x24"x1/2"). How is the quality from ocoochhardwoods.com? They were the second best in prices so far. Trying to get some supplies so I can make a Christmas gift for a family friend.
Thanks!

| Ocooch has a good reputation James. Perhaps there's a woodworker in your area who can help you out? I resaw virtually all of my own wood, works out lots cheaper that way. If you in the CT area give me a yell.

| I bought some wood from Ocooch and was very satisfied. Be advised, I was passing nearby and picked my own. He said that if you call him and tell him just what you are looking for he will do his best to get what you are looking for.
An aside. You should see the bandsaw he uses for resawing. It is a monster of an old timer he got surplus from the navy. As I recall, it uses 22 foot bands.

| I read that Dirk was having problems keeping up with demand. I had a few problems with my first order with him, but he straightened it out.
I also buy from Memphishardwoodlumber.com.
It may cost a little more, but they have some nice wood.

| sloanswoodshop.com is another good place for wood. Don't know if they could supply the size you want, but give them a call.
