Marsha, Your advice and technique for cutting the maple leg-turning stock was right on the money !!  #5 FD Polar ( change blade often  ) , 1/2 speed on the ol' yella' , and go s-l-o-wc1.JPG c2.JPG c3.JPG BLO and Deft I burned the tips of the swan's feathers, but that seems to be the only glaring mishap Thanx so much for the help !

| Your quite welcome Robert, they did turn out very nice. Another little suggestion I should point out, when doing points like on the swan, I come out a bit past the point, make a little spin in the waste wood and go back in on the other side of the point, this will in most instances, avoid the burning that was created trying to make that fine turn. But still they are very nice and I hope you'll continue with compound cutting, it can be very rewarding. Marsha |
