Default Hello from North Carolina

My name is Cathy Skipper and I have been scrolling for a couple of years. I am using a Delta saw but am ready to move up to a better saw. I also am learning to turn pens and bowls, which is a blast. I really want to get accurate enough in my cutting to get good at intarsia. I work full time at a small hospital in Greer SC as the manager of the Medical Information (better know as Medical Records) department. I have an hour commute each way, which doesn't leave me much time in the shop. I am married to a wonderful man who encouraged me to get into scrolling and turning. We have two boxers and grown kids as well as 6 grandchildred. Thanks for letting me join.

Default Welcome

Hi Cathy, welcome to the family. I have been scrolling for about sixteen years now. I thought that I was the only one with this addiction but I found a new family here and they are all infected with the scrolling bug. Welcome aboard. Steve

Hey, Carl, I thought jokes were banned on here now - think of all those in-laws you might have offended

But to get back to the point - welcome Cathy. This is a great board with a lot of helpful people and lots of information. Not to mention some inspiring work in the galleries - if they ever reappear ...... Bob?

Default Hi From North Carolina

Hi, my name is Phillip and I have been Scrolling off and on for about twenty years now. I never did get real good at it. But, for the last two years I have really been scrolling hot and heavy. I believe that God has given me a great talent and I am to use it befor I lose it. I really do find alot of relaxation in my scrolling. Does anyone know if there will ever be a Scroll saw pinic somewhere in the Southeast?

Alabama will have one next spring. And PA has one in June. Thats the closest I know of. www.saw-online is a good place to learn about the different venues. And, if you cant find one nearby, they will help you create one!! They are always a good time, and worth the drive! I have been to many, and have never been disappointed! Dale
