Hello all I am new here - Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts Message Board

I just came upon this sight while looking for a pattern on the net.
I had an old boat anchor of a scrollsaw years ago.. it was frustrating
Bought one this week and wanting to get back into it
AFter I made out my sign on name I seen there was another Dale here.

Some time in the future I am looking for a pattern of a covered wagon
I have a fellow in my church that makes covered wagons from the ground up and thought I would make him a wall hanging of a covered wagon.

but that is in the future
I am from southern Missouri.. Just a Hick.
I do have running water.. lol

Are there many of you that use a peddle scrollsaw?
I have another friend that used them I believe he has 8 of them.
I have a wooden leg so that is out of the question for me..

Oh no, another Missouri hillbilly.

Ozarkhillbilly is also from Missouri. He is a very fine portait scroller, even if he does use spiral blades exclusively.

Welcome aboard Dale! What part of the woods are ya from? I call Rolla Mo. home...... and the fine people of this forum are all part of the best extended family a person could ever hope for.

So you got ya a new saw huh? And your ready to start a cuttin! Well if you have any questions this is the pace to start! And when your ready for a covered wagon pattern give me a shout, I've got quite a few good ones I'd be happy to share.

And if you have any pictures of your work, we all would love to see it.

And yer dang right I use spiral blades!!

Welcome to the group Dale. This fine group of folks changed my scrolling lfe ! I have learned more here in the past 2 months than I did all the previous 6 months I was out in the shop reading books and trying to figure it out for myself.
What kinda saw ya got ?

My best advice is take some time to read the old threads, there's a lot of good info in there.

We are here to exchange ideas, share knowledge, talk about scrolling and life in general. We are a friendly group that is respectfull and we also like to rib each other in a friendly fashion.

Ozarkhillbilly I live in Norwood, MO just west of Cabool and Mountian grove, mo
Small town of 552 people.

I would like to get a covered wagon pattern sometime. I have a fellow in my church that builds them from the ground up.. full size he cuts his own trees and cures them then make a full size wagon with top and all.
pretty neat fellow.
