Default hello

Hello everyone...I'm a trucker and a scroller, who prefer's intarsia. I scroll because it helps relieve the stresses of trucking and it allows me to find countless ways to challenge myself. I have been a woodworking hobbiest and completely self taught since the age of 12. Wood fascinates me. I have been scrolling for 4 years. I also have a wife and 3 kids. I only do my own designs and this year visited the midwest scroll saw show where I actually won first place advanced and scrollers choice award. None of this means I'm about to quit my day job, but it felt good that some people thought I was pretty good.
feel free to view my attachment of the picture that won.
The said it would be on the cover of the next scrollsaw workshop issue, but I won't hold my breath on that....but it's still a nice intarsia.

Hi Working for wood (please add a first name in your signature for us)

Welcome to our little corner of the net.

We are a bunch of loons (or you could make that ducks if you read some the threads) tha love to scroll, talk about many different things, rib each other in a polite way, Oh! and did I mention we very much share a passion to scroll

WOW! 1st place, and you only do your own designs...

You should really, REALLY be proud of yourself, congrats.

Do you bring your saw with you on the road?
What kind of saw do you own?

Your attachments unfortunately seem to have gotten detached
Can you try again? make sure you respect the maximum size, and make sure you click the attach button after selecting them through the browse button.

Hopefully, we will have the privilege to see a lot of your work (we do like to see other people's work, a lot)

Respectfully,
Marcel

I am in Michigan, and I drive a tractor trailer but locally, and do not bring a saw with me, although I may bring some paper and pencils at times.
I'm using a Hawk G4, which is a great saw with some serious issues...why did they ever think to switch to plastic parts ???
Anyhow...thanks, and I'll try again with that attachment...I'll dumb the photo down...too bad about that and the quality....

Now that the image has sunk in a little....
That is one of the nicest pieces I have ever seen!
You have taken the art to a whole new level.

Thanks for sharing that with us. I look forward to seeing more pieces.

since I've joined this forum no one has ever mentioned a project notable for a cover shot.....

in the fishing world, we fish to be published...
did I ever mention that I made the cover of the Western Outdoors News fishing paper back in February of 1999...

WFW, (you really do have to give us something else to call you)
Wow!
Adding my to the list. That is the most amazing intarsia I've ever seen - bar none!
If it doesn't make the magazine cover, perhaps we should revolt. (Or perhaps, just become revolting)
Anyhow, welcome to the family. I think you will have a lot you can teach us. I'm eager for that.
