hello from Des Moines
My name is Chris and I am brand new to add scroll sawing. I have some medical issues that prevent me from doing my previous hobbies so i got on craigslist and bought a dewalt scroll saw. Its an older model made in canada and now im begining my journey. I bought a book with some practice patterns, just lines and curves so far, no actual projects.
Basically just want to say hi and thanks for the info so far.

Welcome, Chris. It sounds like you are now where I was nine months ago -- just starting out and wondering where the hobby will take you. I hope your journey will be as fun as mine has been so far. Don't be afraid to ask questions. That's what this forum is for. Good luck.

Good to have you here Chris. I'm originally from Cedar Rapids & I have a sister who lives in Des Moines. Glad you are getting off to a good start. Nice saw & learning fast. I have a 788 also & love it. As you get into scrolling more, you will enjoy it even more. Good Luck to you.
