Default Second time around

Years ago I purchased one of the little $99 scroll saws. My first project was a set of interlocking reindeer as Christmas decorations. My last project was that same set of reindeer :-( I did do another set of them but used my bandsaw instead...

Lil saw went away!!!

Recently (couple months ago) I obtained a nice used RBI26vs. There is a difference. Since starting with it I have done several jigsaw puzzles, some other types of puzzles, a couple portraits, a basket and a few compound-cut reindeer.

As an old computer geek I have been searching out ways to generate patterns. My portrait from pictures have been so so - so far. Need more practice there. I do have (found on the internet) an imageMagick script that will do 90% of the pattern generation from a photo. I just need to learn how to flesh out the details.

I'm collecting books and patterns when and where I can. I expect that an attempt at some bowls is next.

This stiff is fun. I'm sorry I didn't go for the right kind of saw all those years ago - would be a bit more advanced by now.

Just wanted to introduce myself. Sorry if I rambled on - that's what us old f...s do.

Happy scrolling,

ray
