Default A beginner

Hi, everybody, glad to be a part of your community.
I got a scroll saw for Christmas a few years ago, even though I have issues, I've managed to do a few things. My biggest problem is getting the blade in and not breaking it when I'm working. Hopefully, I can get some guidance. I love working with wood and building things. Even though level and square doesn't seem to work together. LOL. My grandpa was a wonderful scroll sawer, making all his Christmas gifts. He made beautiful trinket shelves, he was and is my biggest inspiration.

Welcome to a great forum.
Remember that most blades have a burr on the right side what makes the blade cut to the right. You have to move the wood some degree to the right to stay on the line.
Have good tension on the blade, the blade should not move sideways more than 1/8" and that is almost too much. Have good speed, if not, you might push too hard into the blade and the blade will grab the wood instead of cutting it. Also you will lose control. Have low feed rate, if you push too hard into the blade, the blade will start cutting with a bevel. Let the blade do the cutting they say.
If you go to this site you might find some more help.

Welcome to the forum. What kind of saw are you using? Hope you post some pics of your work.

OK, Welcome to the forum. Your best teachers are time and your saw. Of cource ask questions but remember when it comes to scrolling there is really no wrong way to do anything but there are many ways to do it. If you are pleased with the result you did it right.
The only wrong is not showing us. We're a nosy bunch so post lots of pix. LOL
