Have been working with hubbys saw, but he finally bought me my own late this winter, and he says he has created a monster, lol. Am always looking for patterns, easy ones just now, hope to get fancier as I get more practiced at all this. We use the spiral round blades, I can whip things out with them, I hate turning my wood all around, so love being able to go forewards, backwards and sideways with these blades!

Greetings! I am new too... haven't even tried a spiral blade yet. Kind of scares me thinking about it. lol. Difference between flying a plane and a helicopter I'd think... I understand the aerodynamics of a plane... but a helicopter... no way. =)

Welcome MammaCat!

It's good to have another member here that likes spiral blades. Most of the other members of the club I belong too don't like them much. For me they help me to not push the wood sideways when using "regular" blades. Then again "whatever works for you".

Steve Good has a site with LOTS of patterns suitable for beginners (or people that don't have several hundred hours to cut a grandfather clock.) Scrollsaw Workshop

Have fun with your new hobby.
