Default Been Lurking

Just getting started with scrollsawing, and have been visiting this site for a few weeks, getting good tips. Have a DW788 delivered first of Jan. Am working on keeping downward pressure on projects, not putting on side pressure, and not pushing too hard. Blade choice is a learning experience also.

By the looks of the posted projects on this site, I should probably stick to regular woodworking. They look great. I will, tho, keep trying.

No, I don't have anything to post. Maybe someday.

Looking forward to getting better; Larry

Welcome Larry, glad you decided to show up..........it's a great place to learn, share, and just have a good time. Come by often, and don't forget to sign & date your pieces, especially the first.

Welcome Larry
Practice,practice, practice.Regular woodworking??
I have been there and done that. I have any woodworking tool you could want, including 3 routers. Since getting into scrolling last year--the only tools I use now is my band saw and my scroll saw. I love the scroll saw and you will too in time. Take your time--learn from your mistakes. There is a multitude of people here who can answer any question you have and the tips you will pick up are priceless. Enjoy your new saw--practice and soon you may feel the same way.

Best oof luck to you!!

Welcome aboard Larry. Don't try and compare your work to what others do. Some of the scrollers on this site have been at it for years, and I bet they will tell you they are still learning. I know I sure do learn a lot from the folks here. We all are critical of our work so never be afraid to post a picture of your work. saw dust
