Hi Lewis, welcome to the site. Do you have pictures you can post of your toys and whirligigs? We all love pictures.

Hi Lewis - welcome to the club!
I live in Mexico where there is still a strong tradition of making fairly simplistic 'folk art' style wooden toys. I love them and think its great that you are making them. Too many things these days are made from plastic and anything we can do to keep these traditions alive is to be encouraged.

As you walk into my house the first thing you see is simple 'climbing clown' hanging from the wall by two strings. When you pull on the strings alternately the clown climbs up them. I've lost count of the number of kids who enter the house and can't resist making this fellah climb and most also have a final tug on him on the way out!

You keep making and showing your toys, they are great!

PS - next time try posting in the Bragging section or in one of the Scroll Saw sections and more folks will get to see them

Cheers!
