Question newly curious

hello all, i have never used a scroll saw nor have i previously done any woodworking and am curious to the ends and outs of scroll sawing. I have only looked into scroll sawing about the last couple of weeks and found this website yesterday. I am doing the searching and learning part now. I would like to know about pros and cons of non electric scroll saws and the electric scroll saws as well. Is the repro of the barnes veliopede in production? price? I would like to know what would be a good saw to purchase to start out and not be too cheap and not professional grade as well. I would like to do projects such as puzzles, vehicles, celtic items, childrens toys, novelties. I love the idea of doing the scrolling non electric, looks fun and addictive. thanks to all and any input you all may give.

Well, that's a whole lot to cover in one post. My suggestion would be to visit the Publisher Feedback section of the forum and peruse some of the articles listed there. There's one on choosing a saw, basics of scroll sawing, blades, etc. That might get you started. Come back with further questions, folks here are always willing to help.

Oh and by the way, Welcome to the forum!
