Smile Newbie

Hi to everyone, just joined and i am very excited to learn from all you "older" members. I live and work in Bali Indonesia so i'm pretty restricted in tool selection and usable types of wood. Presently i "assist" my wife with the wood work side of scrap-booking and craft work. thats how i became interested in scroll sawing. So i may be asking all sorts of advice and how to questions. thanks in advance.

Welcome Laurie - Fire away with any questions you have. You'll find plenty of help here. Dependent what type of scrolling you want to do you posible don't need many tools. As for wood, look around the local carpenters and wood carvers who are making tourist souvenirs, you'll be amazed what scraps you can pickup as they tend to use some nice exotic woods which you can usually buy for a song
