Default Greetings from Kentucky

Hello, what a wonderful site you all have here. I am a complete beginner to scroll sawing. I have been doing wood working for awhile as a hobby, but have now decided to try my hand at Scrolling. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome aboard...

My best advice is to read as much as you can. There is a ton of information....Most questions you will find answers too by just poking around...Have a ton o fun and don't be afraid to ask questions, or to let us know a little more about your experience..

Welcome to a great site! You will find lots of help and some great patterns to get you started. What type of scroll saw do you have? And what part of the Bluegrass state are you from?

Hi, I am from Western Ky, I live on Lake Barkley. I have just purchased a 16" Saw from Harbor Freight. I am certain its not a great saw but It only cost me 69.99. I am going to start off with some simple stuff I think. I didn't want to invest heavily until I find out if this is something I will enjoy.

I hope the HF saw is a pinless saw. You may wish you had spent a little more and upgraded at least to the Hitachi. cw 40 or similar...But the important thing is you have a saw and can begin on your journey...

Thanks for your advise. It was not a pin-less saw, but it had an adapter, but I couldn't get it to work very well, also The saw over all wa not to my liking. I have bought alot of tools from HF and generally have been happy. anyways I took it back today and got my money back. I went to Lowes and bought the Hitachi. big difference in saws. I have been playing with it his evening. I really like it much better so far. Thanks soo much for all the advise.

Welcome to the forums Prale. Glad you got the saw issue taken care of so quickly. Have you found the free pattern vault yet? Lots of good stuff in it from mild to wild on cutting... As Mike (one of them anyway...hard to keep track of them sometimes) said, now you can begin your journey...If you need any help, just post the question, and I'm sure someone can answer it.I've only been scrolling for 10 months, but could not have made it this far with out all the good advice and help from the knowledgeble people on here. See ya around !
