Default Hello (New Member)

Hello everyone I am finally retired and ready to start scrolling. For now I have a craftsman 18 in variable speed with the foot switch. I just about have it worn out so I ordered a Dewalt 788 which should be here next week I can hardly wait. I am wondering if my foot switch from my craftsman will work on my 788? I am also interested in Intarsia and can't wait to get started and that is why I ordered the 788. This is an excellent message board and I am sure I will get all my many questions answered. I sure am glad I found you guys and gals. I am sure we will talk again.

Doc

Doc welcome , and the foot switch should work on the Dewalt 788 for I started out on the Craftsman also and went to the Dewalt . You'll love the Dewalt , for after all those years with the lower end Craftsman I found that the Dewalt 788 was the saw for me . I also covered the switch up on top of the Dewalt with some plastic and tape for on some of the other sites their was some trouble with the dust getting into the switch , and giving problems I never use the top switch anyway - just some food for thought . Happy scrollling ........ Marshall

Hi Doc - Welcome to the board. One post and already I'm jealous! I'm sure you'll enjoy your new Dewalt. Just wish i could re-route it my way!
Once you have it run in don't forget to post some of your work

have fun!
