Hello Friends,I am from south pasadena California and retired from field of construction august of 2008. I have a passion for woodwork and finaly can devote some time to it for self satisfaction. Now I live in an two bedroom apt.,at second floor and I'm limited to noise factor among other things such as building furniture ect. Couple of months ago while helping a friend to clean up his parents garage I stumbeled in to a 18'' Hagner scroll saw(runs like a dream) so quite and got the idea to cut small pieces, after messing around with it day or so I realized I was over my head(cutting speed, types of wood, thickness, pattern transfer, proper blade etc.)but I got hooked.
I admire every and each one of your skills and with your help I might get there some day.I thank you all for allowing me to part of your circle.

Welcome to the boards j4ege .You sure started out with a dandy of a saw! I've been here six months, and can honestly say this is a great forum. The best suggestion I can give ya is to order your blades online. That will save you a bundle right there (compared to buying them in a store).Do a "Search" (top of the page) on blades.Everyone has their favorite brand, but that should get you pointed in the right direction of what different brands their are.I worked all night,so hope this makes sense to ya. Glad ya joined and see ya on the boards...
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory....
