Default New here

Not sure how or if I fit in here, but here goes.
I make 3D signs for a living & a scrollsaw is just one of the tools I use. I don't use it a lot, but I couldn't get along without one. Mostly, I just use the saw to cut out the shape of a sign, or individual letters before carving them prismatically.
I'm in eastern Ontario. Another post about HDU (high density urethane) caught my attention, so I felt I may have something to offer.
Here's a pic of some of my work.........

The sign itself is Red Cedar & the carved eagle is from 15lb density HDU. Basic shapes were cut out with my old Craftsman. It's on its last legs, but still works. It works hard but not too often........the HDU cuts nicely, even 2" stock, but 1.75" cedar is fairly hard on it.
The scroll saw doesn't work on larger projects so it doesn't get used that much.

Welcome to the board. I must say that, that is one of the best eagle carvings I have ever seen. If it is your carving you should be very pleased with the outcome. The HDU seems to be of little use in scrollsaw work, at least the styles I do (portrait, landscape etc.) Anyway stick around you might find that you have a new hobby to get addicted to.

Nice eagle. You seem like a person who may give some good tips as well as receive some. Wecome to the group. Look forward to seeing more of your work.

I WAITED patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me and heard my cry.
He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay,
And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm.
He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God;
Many will see and fear
And will trust in the Lord.
Psalm 40:1-3
