Thumbs down Finally got logged in long enough to post

Can you tell me why I keep getting booted off or my computer
continually freezing up on this new site?
I just moved from AFSP and have had nothing good to say about
this site yet!
You'll probably have to post directly to spirithorse55@hotmail.com
because I really don't know if I'll ever be able to see anything on this
site at this rate.
Frustration has set it!
God Bless! SpiritHorse

I've never had a problem with the site causing a PC to freeze up and I've logged in on a variety of PC's, old and new. I'll post a private message to the top dog (Bob) and ask if there is any Internet setting or such that can be causing your problem.

Update: I've Posted BOb but he is not on-line at the moment. Hopefully he can offer an explanation.

Sorry to hear about your problem, as I rate as the non-expert on computers I have no idea what you are doing wrong. It allways works for me, how or why I have no clue.lol.
Hope you get it fixed as this is one of the best sites going. If you keep having problems please ask for help and you will get it.

Alan.

Bob,
I will talk to Bob and Claudio tomorrow to see if they can offer some insight. I'm aware of 1 other former AFSP member having similar issues. This is a new one on me and unlike MSN, these guys actually fix glitches when they're found.

Ive been at this site for quite some time, and even posted a few times, and havent had any of the problems you are experiencing, its most likely something with your system on your end.

Default Troubleshooting tips

Spirithorse,

I'll respond off the board also to male sure you can read this, but for any others with a simliar issue here goes:

I don't know of a specific reason it would be locking up on you, but I can offer some troubleshooting tips that might offer some insight...

The biggest thing would be to disable any add-ons in your browser. Before you do this, if you have more then one browser installed on your computer you may want to just try the site in another browser and see if the same thing happens. If not it is something with your browser's setup. Most of these issues occur because of 3rd party plugins doing something that they shouldn't. If you are using Firefox or Internet Explorer (7 or 8), you can disable all plugins by starting it in safemode (not to be confused with Window's own safe mode).

For Firefox do:

Start >> Run and type: firefox -safe-mode

For Internet Explorer 7 or 8 do:
Start >> Run and type: iexplore -extoff

Try the site and see if it gives you the same problems. If so let me know and I can offer some other suggestions.

If you are using Internet Explorer 6, I would *highly* suggest upgrading to Internet Explorer 7. If doing so I would just run Windows Update to make sure you are up-to-date with all of your Windows patches, as this is the #1 way to prevent viruses and exploits, and often fixes issues like this with Internet Explorer.
