Smile Hello scrollsaw people!

I am new to the world of scrollsaws, and have began at a relatively old age!ha! I am already hooked, and will/have found this forum invaluable already!
I live in Scotland and do not have access to the amazing array of tools and blade suppliers that are found in the U.S.A. Anyone out there who knows of U.K. or European suppliers, could you please let me know of any usefull addresses! baldybob!:

From a fellow Scott welcome to the crew. I don't have any answers for your questions but keep asking and I might find one to answer.

Baldybob,
You should get in contact with Gill on this forum. She is on your side of the Atlantic and will have lots of good contacts.

Hi Baldybob

Welcome to the board.
I'm a Brit living in Mexico and I share your problem with sourcing materials and accessories. Blades I get from Mike's Workshop English featuring: my life story, a cancer survivor, scrollsawing samples and tips, community service, list of favorite sites and Flying Dutchman fretsaw blades for sale. and he ships internationally - just mail him for shipping costs which are very cheap since the blades weigh nothing. He's also extremely helpful regarding info on choice of blades

As to all material suppliers you could try the hobby and craft shops that specialize in stuff like aircraft modeling where you can probably find thin ply. For timber, that shouldnt be too much of a problem - apart from obvious sources try the home wreckers and junk yards where you can often find hardwood scraps

Ref the more exotic tools. I tend to get by on ingenuity and make most of mine or adapt useful tips from the folks on this board - they are a mine of useful information if you ask the right question. It costs a bit more time and work but I find I can get by without most of all purpose made accessories even though I wouldn't say no to a number of items!

Good luck and have fun

Well Bob , I started at 60, and thats no spring chicken. As for blades You might try Mike's Workshop selling Flying Dutchman brand fret and scrollsaw blades and see if Mike ships international. He has some very good prices. There are others, except I'm having a senior moment right now. Any way welcome the this forum . It is the best(mho). Ask all the questions and don't forget to post photos of your work.. Kind regards Richard aka thumbs

Hello Bob, and welcome. I too, just started the wonderful art of scroll sawing and never knew it could be so much fun. Folks here are just great and really helpful as you have already experienced.

I've been using Flying Dutchmen blades and have been very pleased
