Default New to all this

Hi everyone. I'm a 59 year old with too many interests...the newest being a scroll saw bought used last week. After using it for the first time last night I'm even more intriqued and impressed with the stuff you guys with experience, patience and time can do.
The saw I bought is an older 16" Craftsman, maybe at some point I'll be able to make an upgrade to a new saw. BTW, does anyone know if these older saws can be upgraded to a quick release blade clamp?

Welcome, I'm pretty new to this also, the search here is great for those of us starting out. Sorry no idea about the upgrade.

Hi kenking,

Welcome to the site. The people are friendly with lots of good advise. I am sure someone will jump in with help on the upgrade.

Ken : This is the saw I started out on many years ago , but mine had a thumb screw that made it a toolless blade change . But I just brought one of these used 16 inch craftsman scroll about two weeks ago used and gave it to my son and I noticed that it took a allen wench to make the blade change . I thought that all the craftsman scroll saws were toolless blade change until I brought that one . Well I'm sure you can buy some jaws surely to make it a toolless change, this is what I told my son anyhow. Well good Luck !! Marshall
